Do You Qualify for a Fee Reduction or Complete Fee Waiver?

Let us help you determine if you can qualify for a reduction or even a complete waiver of the fee for this required counseling service.

Qualification #1- Your attorney provided free (pro bono)services in connection with your bankruptcy case.

If this is you, then have your attorney send to us an email verifying this, once received, we will waive the entire fee for your choice of internet/telephone, telephone or in-person service. You will need to call us in order for us to provide to you the proper registration before you can continue this course.

Step #2 Does your household income:

A. exceed both the poverty line and the 150% of poverty line amount. If yes, then sorry, you do not qualify for a reduction nor a waiver of fee.

B. fall between the two income numbers? If yes, then you qualify for a fee reduction. If you choose the internet/telephone counseling the normal fee of $25 per person will be reduced to $20 per person. If you choose the telephone or in-person counseling the normal fee of $50 for single will be reduced to $40 and the normal fee of $75 married filing joint will be reduced to $60.

C. fall below the poverty line income amount? If yes, then you qualify for a complete fee waiver. You can choose either the internet/phone, telephone or the in-person method to take your required counseling.

Note: Household Income is the combined sum of all gross income (before-taxes) of all members living in the household. Members of the household do not have to be related.

Step #3 Verification process:
Qualification to acquire a reduction or waiver of fee requires the debtor to demonstrate that they meet the stated requirements defined above. Verification includes but is not restricted to: the front page of their current tax return, paycheck stubs, unemployment paper or any reasonable document reflecting their income. You will need to provide this verification in order for us to provide to you the proper registration before you can continue this course.
