Bankruptcy Briefing. This is a 60 to 90 minute counseling course
that will inform you about bankruptcy, other options that might be
considered and a review of your income and expenses.
Our goal is to assist you in your decision to file bankruptcy
and understand the process so you can make an informed decision
concerning your financial situation. Bankruptcy is not easy but it
can give you a fresh start and we want that fresh start to be a
positive one.
We offer three methods of delivery of this
service: online, phone, or face to face at our office. If you would
prefer either phone or face to face counseling, please call our

Our Counseling course is titled "Knowing Your
Options" and during this course, we will take you step by step
through the decision
process of filing bankruptcy.
- It will provide alternative options for you to consider and a review of your income and expenses.
- It will discuss the consequences of filing bankruptcy but also show you it is not the end of the world.
- The importance of knowing you have made the right decision will help you to complete the bankruptcy process with the court.
The
Process you will go through in order to complete this course is:
- You will be asked to read "Knowing Your Options".
- You will complete an income and expense form and the financial balance sheet.
- You will summarize this information by completing the Plan of Action form.
- You will receive professional counseling during and at the completion of this course.
- This information is not shared with your attorney or the court.
- Each INDIVIDUAL must complete their own course and receive a certificate. Married filing joint
can complete this course together. Each will receive a
certificate.
Now before you start this course, there is some
preliminary paperwork
that must be done. Once you click on the "continue button" it will

- Reading the "Privacy Notice"
- Reading the "Customer Disclosure Statement"
- Completing an "Affidavit Form"
- Completing the "Method of Payment"

Costs:
Please be advised that in most cases you will be charged a fee of $50.00
per person/$75 for a couple for the combination of the counseling
and the certificate. In accordance with the law, we have available
free services for those people receiving disability (SSI) or whose
attorney has waived their fees.
